Common questions about Investor Roster
Don’t see what you’re looking for? Email support@investorroster.com and we’ll get back to you.
Pricing & trial
▸How much does Investor Roster cost?
Standard pricing is $299 per month billed monthly, or $2,388 per year ($199/mo equivalent) billed annually.
Founding members pay $149 per month or $1,194 per year($99.50/mo equivalent). The founding rate is 50% off the standard rate, locked for life as long as the subscription stays continuous — not a launch promo. See the next question for details.
▸What is the founding-member rate?
The first 50 subscribers get 50% off standard pricing for as long as their subscription remains continuously active. If you cancel and resubscribe later, you forfeit the founding rate and pay standard pricing.
Once 50 founding seats are taken, new signups are offered the standard rate only. The landing page shows live spots remaining.
▸Is there a free trial?
Yes — a 5-day free trial with full access to the database and CRM features. A valid credit card is required to start the trial. If you cancel before day 5, you are not charged.
During the trial you can view up to 10 unique firm profile pages. (Re-visiting a profile you already opened does not count against the limit.) On day 6 your card is charged for the plan you selected at signup.
▸Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel through the Customer Portal accessible from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access through that period.
▸Do you offer refunds?
Subscription fees are non-refundable. No refunds for partial months, unused features, or annual subscriptions canceled mid-year. Cancel before the end of your trial and you pay nothing.
The database
▸Where does the data come from?
The database started as a working tool used internally to raise equity for sponsors over nearly 15 years. It combines:
- Direct relationships with LPs, family offices, institutional investors, and allocators
- Ongoing industry connections and conference intelligence
- Public data — news, fund announcements, allocation reports, and other publicly available sources
It is curated, not scraped. See About for the longer story.
▸How often is the data updated?
Continually. Firms shift mandates, close new funds, hire new principals, and step away from segments — the database tracks those changes as they happen. It’s not a one-time scrape that goes stale.
▸How comprehensive is the coverage?
Coverage spans the active U.S. CRE capital landscape, equity and debt: institutional LPs, family offices (single and multi), pension funds, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth, REITs, real estate operating companies, co-GP / capital-raising partners, and lenders (banks, debt funds, mortgage REITs, agency / CMBS, life companies). New firms are added continually.
If you’re looking for coverage of a specific niche or geography and want to confirm before trialing, email support@investorroster.com.
▸What if I find an error in a firm's data?
Email support@investorroster.com with the firm name and the correction. We review every report and update the source database, so the fix is visible to all subscribers (not just you).
How the product works
▸Who is this built for?
The primary user is:
- Active CRE sponsors and borrowers raising equity or debt across multiple deals a year
- Capital markets professionals, mortgage brokers, and placement agents
- Co-GP and capital raisers scaling syndication businesses
- Real estate fund managers raising their next vehicle
▸Do you cover both equity and debt?
Yes. On the equity side: LP and JV / co-GP capital, preferred equity, and fund LPs. On the debt side: bridge, construction, permanent, agency / CMBS, life-company, mezzanine, and fix-and-flip. Real-estate-only, and curated by people who have raised both.
▸Can I track my outreach and deals inside the tool?
Yes — this is the workflow side of the product:
- Saved lists of target firms, with notes and tags per firm
- Activity logs against each firm and contact (calls, emails, meetings, notes)
- Follow-up tasks with due dates and overdue flags
- Per-deal pipelines tracking firms through Identified → Contacted → In Discussion → Committed
- Private firm and contact records you can add (people not yet in the public database)
▸Is there a mobile app?
No native app. The web app works on mobile browsers; everything is accessible from your phone. A native app is not on the roadmap for v1.
Comparison
▸How is this different from other CRE investor databases?
Two main differences:
- Real CRM workflow. Most other databases are closer to a directory — you find a firm, copy what you need into your own spreadsheet, and track outreach somewhere else. Investor Roster has the workflow built in: saved lists, notes, deal pipelines, outreach tracking, follow-up reminders. You work the database in place.
- Operator-built. The data has been curated over nearly 15 years by a working placement agent who used it to actually raise capital for sponsors. The schema reflects how raising actually happens, not how an outside team imagines it should.
▸How is this different from PitchBook, Preqin, or FINTRX?
Those are excellent generalist platforms covering private equity, venture capital, real estate, and credit across every asset class. They cost $30,000+ per year and are sold to institutional teams.
Investor Roster is CRE-specific, equity and debt, and priced for individual active sponsors and small capital markets teams. We don’t compete on breadth; we compete on depth in the CRE capital stack and on having a real workflow tool around the data.
Privacy & security
▸Is my account data private?
Yes. Your saved lists, notes, deals, activity logs, follow-up tasks, and any private firm or contact records you add are visible only to you. They are never shared with other subscribers or used for any other purpose.
Database-level row-level security (RLS) enforces this; not just UI checks. See the Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
▸Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. Email support@investorroster.com and we’ll delete your account and personal data within 30 days. Payment records held by Stripe are retained per their own policies and applicable law.
